All Saints’ Church, Pickhill

All Saints’ Pickhill is a beautiful, serene church where people have been worshipping for over 1000 years. It has undergone many alterations during the years but the impressive Norman entrance arch has stood the test of time and is much admired. The church is open daily from 10am until 4.00pm.

Recent changes have included rearranging the pews so that they can all be moved giving us a much more flexible space. We have close links with Pickhill primary school and they take advantage of this space to stage their annual end of term production and Christmas show and it allows us to have community events from time to time.

Everyone is welcome to come to our services. We enjoy refreshments together straight after our 9.30am Service of the Word (on the second Sunday of each month), and from 10.30am before our 11.00am Holy Communion service (on the fourth Sunday of each month). In addition to these regular services, we have Holy Communion at 11.30 on the last Thursday of every month which is preceded by “Coffee and Chat” from 10.00am.

We have a variety of fund raising events including an annual duck race at Swainby Beck which is well supported by the community.

The church grounds include the graveyard and a field with a bordering garden all of which are well maintained by volunteers. Marquees, which are owned by the church, are erected in the field for social events.

Whilst the church itself is in Pickhill, it serves the surrounding villages of Sinderby, Holme on Swale. Howe and Ainderby Quernhow.
